The debate in journalism about the use of independent technology infrastructure vs. big tech and its cloud has been going on for years. Yet, the issue has become even more urgent with recent political developments and the current dominance of big tech companies. What does this mean for investigative journalism, and how can we deal with the erosion of trust in big tech solutionsmas the need for cloud resources grows? On the other hand, a growing community is developing independent services and tools and and new networks are being set up. In this networking roundtable, we want to discuss different strategies and share experiences, hurdles, and possible solutions with journalists and tech experts.
