Shafi Karimi is the Founder and Director of Future Afghanistan and an award-winning multimedia journalist and writer. With over nine years of experience covering Afghanistan, he has reported extensively on major developments, including the 2021 Taliban takeover. Now based in France, Shafi contributes to several international media outlets, including France 24, Vice News, Mail Online, Nikkei Asia, and UAE-based Akhbar Alaan. Previously, he was based in Kabul, where he reported for RFE/RL’s Radio Azadi, TOLO News, and Ariana News.
